Collusion. Subterfuge. Secrecy. Each of these words has a current meaning to most of us. If you keep up with the news, you have heard these words used to describe the underpinnings of politics, business, government; even religion!
None of these words should be equated with the body of Christ. We are not people of darkness; rather, we are people of the light.
Christians should not be attached to questionable tactics or questionable organizations. We should be cautious in our memberships, our purchases, our investments, and our relationships.
Anything which could bring negative reflections on the cause of Christ should cause us to seek distance. We are a people of light; not of the darkness, nor of the night!
None of us can help what labels others casually decide to place upon us, whatever their purposes may be. But we must guard our own hearts to be certain we do not become like the world and retaliate in like manner.
The Word of God teaches us in 1 Thessalonians 5:22, Abstain from all appearance of evil. If you are committed to truth and light through Jesus Christ, you will be able to discern the efforts of the Evil One to mislead you and derail your walk with Christ!
None of us is immune from temptation. However, we are able to gain resistance to temptation when we are walking in the Light. Darkness cannot overcome Light; especially the Light of God!
