A wonderful Father’s Day! At church and at home… a wonderful worship time with the good church at Bells. A terrific lunch at home along with phone calls from the children and grandchildren. Couldn’t have been much better unless they had all been here.

Many of us consider ourselves blessed. I am certainly one of those. My God is awesome! Our church is a great fellowship of worship. Nothing could substitute for my wife and children. I feel like David the shepherd when he said in satisfaction, “The Lord is my Shepherd. I have everything I need.”

Some people don’t realize how wealthy they are. Most people with a lot of money spend their time figuring out how not to give it up. Others are figuring out how to gain more. The Apostle Paul said, “I have learned in whatsoever state I am in, therewith to be content.”

Sometimes we think change is all that is worthwhile. Churches get that way. We want to do differently because the ‘other church’ is doing it differently and succeeding. Usually there are no parallels between the church WE are in and the other church we are trying to become. Do we need to change? Sometimes! Change everything? No!  After all, Jesus Christ is the Same; yesterday, today, and forever!

Good worship satisfies the soul, not the cravings of the flesh. Good teaching fulfills our spiritual hunger and thirst, not the whims of fancy or imagination. Good preaching leads us to the presence of God, not to the praise of man. Good praying leads us to the Throne of Grace, not to an admiration of the one praying.

Be careful, Church, what you want to change. Our nation has changed; not for the better, on most levels. Prayerfully, our church will not go down the path of change for the sake of satisfying the carnal desires of church going people. We must satisfy our Lord!

Remember, everything we do matters for the Kingdom of God! You’ll be glad you were faithful, and others will be blessed!

Happy to be,

Servant of Christ and His Church at Bells,

Bro. Wayne
