Well, it’s getting to be crunch time. There is light at the end of the tunnel – meaning the end of school is in sight! It also means that there is a lot of stuff that has to be done and I’m feeling the pressure. I got all my end of the year evaluations done finally. I’m trying to prepare a few songs for a concert while I rehearse a play. Now discussions have started about awards day, field day, prom dance, and other things while we’re trying to finish up all the end of the year testing. Whew!
We also feel it personally. Bretney is a junior, which means next year she’ll be a senior – I figured that out all by myself – which means there are a lot of decisions to make – college, financing, career, etc. Both girls are getting older which means adulthood and moving out are in the not too distant future. So many things, so little time.
This same type of question should plague us as Christians. We know that the end is coming. We know we are on the winning team. We know some people are not. When will it become crunch time for us? How close to the end will we have to get before we do something about the lost and dying around us? School will be out in about three weeks. Bretney will be a senior in about three months. The end of the world will be in???? That’s the rub, we don’t know – could be tomorrow, could be ten years, could be a hundred years. Knowing that, we should live in expectancy, looking forward to seeing Jesus face to face. But who will be standing next to you when that happens? We need to share Jesus all the time because we don’t know when He will return. Let’s not fold under the crunch but thrive in it!
And now I’ve got to run!!
love ya, Bret.
