Well, it happened again last night.  We were checking out our groceries and the cashier looked at me and said, “Has anyone ever told you you look like someone famous?”  “Who do you think?” I asked.  “You look like Hugh Jackman!”  “Yes, I’ve gotten that several times as a matter of fact.”  The guy in the next checkout piped up, “She’s been excited ever since she saw you come in.”

Yes, that’s me.  My claim to fame is that I look like someone else!  I don’t mind so much.  Actually, it’s fun.  I just wish I could make some money from it!  I guess I need to apply to be his stand in or movie double.  My question is, does anyone ever tell him, “You look just like Bret Scott!”  Now THAT would be really great!!

Here’s where we get real.  When people look at us, they are supposed to see Jesus.  The question is, do they?  When the disciples were arrested and asked about their preaching, the authorities could tell “they had been with Jesus.”  What was it about them?  Remember, Moses’ face literally glowed when he came back from the presence of God.  It so unnerved people that he had to wear a veil to cover it up.  I’ve never been asked to cover my face – thank goodness.  If I did though, would it be because of the presence of God?

The authorities also knew the disciples were common men with little education so apparently the way they spoke and carried themselves also showed Jesus.  Anyone who is in love with Jesus can’t hide it.  It just flows out them.  He makes a difference in our lives.  A big difference!  A noticeable difference!  So, are we letting Jesus show on our faces, through our words, in our lives?  We should be! I may resemble Hugh Jackman but I’d rather people see Jesus.  Who do people say you look like?

Until our next togethering,

love ya,

Bret
