I hope you had fun visiting the ‘40’s with us Sunday night.  I know I did!  Just in case you couldn’t tell it, I really like Swing and Big Band music!  The first time I heard this collection I fell in love with it.  Fun music, a fun show, and great people to work with – you couldn’t ask for a better mix!  As always, I am so proud of our choir, the “Merry Melody Makers,” and for the great job they did with our Christmas musical, “The Big Christmas Broadcast of 1943.”  The music had its own challenges but they rose and met those challenges with fantastic results!  This choir is one hard working group of people.  They sing out their love for Jesus through their love and gifting in music.  And we have a lot of fun along the way.  (I am also thankful for some new faces that joined us for this special project!)

At the risk of leaving someone out, allow me some special thanks.  Donna Sue and Benjamin worked with us all through rehearsals helping us learn our parts.  Even though we used a track to enjoy all the band instruments, they were with us every step of the way.  Thanks, too, to Leland Lyerla who had the tough job of working out all the technical aspects.  And our cast was great as well!  Special thanks to Travis Gibson, Daniel Akers, Drew Nanney, Ricky Wilson, Charlotte White, Bretney Scott, Terry Miller, and Bro. Dennis for bringing our script to life.  It wouldn’t have been the same without you!

And to the hard working social committee, thank you for coordinating a wonderful meal to cap off the evening!  Enjoying fabulous food and fellowship around the table was a great way to relax after our program and continue celebrating the Christmas season, which is what all of this is about, after all.

As you gather with family and friends, remember Who we are celebrating.

Until our next togethering,
love ya, Bret.
