Thanksgiving; a time to pause, remember, and give thanks.  If I were to really pause and give thanks for all the many blessings I have been given, it would take much longer than a pause.  You’d have to check back with me sometime next week at the earliest to see if I was done.  At the top of the list is a loving God who created and gifted me; making me unique and special.  One of my first and best expressions of gratitude is to give myself back to Him and use His gifts to me for His kingdom.

Along with love, He is also a God of truth.  He is truth.  He simply cannot lie so when He makes a promise you are guaranteed that He will fulfill it.  I was taken back to Jesus’ parting words to His disciples (and us!) before His ascension back to heaven.  “I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”  I – Almighty God.  I am – the great I AM, Who was and is and is to come.  With you – He lives inside us continually offering His power and strength to face the day.  He also walks beside us offering His hand to hold, His shoulder to cry on, and His eyes to watch over us.  Always – He will never take a vacation or even a coffee break.  His 24/7 includes every nanosecond.  Even – as if we could come up with some type of exception.  To the end of the age – this world will and is coming to an end so our time on earth is just that – an age, a season in passing.  We also have a corresponding promise of a home in heaven.  Jesus said that He was going away to prepare a place for us so He will come back to take us there Himself.

Thanksgiving in America may be the third Thursday in November but for Christians, it should be every moment of every hour of every day.  Thank you, Lord and praise Your name.

Until our next togethering,
love ya, Bret.
