Thankfulness was a wonderful experience for me to be with Calvary Baptist, Humboldt, TN in revival. Tony Crossnoe is their Pastor. This was my first pastorate and we hold many fond memories of my first ‘training ground’! So many reminders came of our first experience in pastoral ministry. Please continue to pray for the services at Calvary through Wednesday evening. Bro. Bret will bring a message this Wednesday!

Since my early years in Humboldt, I cannot help but reflect on so many learning opportunities that the Lord has graciously provided for my spiritual development in the intervening years in different places. Many of the believers in our pastorates have gone to be with the Lord. Many others have gone into ministry having professed their call from the Lord to serve His churches. For this I am deeply thankful!

Another observation I would make is that oftentimes our plans do not coincide with the Lord’s plans. Learning to follow His lead and be contented with His direction is a very important part of spiritual maturity. It is simple to make our own determination as to what we should do, but God’s plan for us is always the best.

This time in ministry is a treasure to me. Bells people have been so encouraging and such a blessing to me. Hopefully we will keep our focus more intently on the Lord’s directions for Bells FBC! He has marvelous plans for this church!

This Sunday we will recognize our graduating seniors, Sarah Kate Stephenson and Davis O’Donnell. Congratulations to you both! What a major event for these who are graduating and moving forward with new plans! Pray faithfully for them. They are included in this Sunday’s bulletin, in today’s newsletter, and on our Church Website.

I will miss you in the meantime, and on Sunday morning, we will continue toward completion of ‘The Fruit of the Spirit’ with a focus on FAITH!!!

“Nothing Routine in Twenty Nineteen!”

I remain grateful to serve with you!
