It’s a blessing to see God’s people work through what could be an adversity. Yesterday I preached on ‘goodness’ as among the nine elements of the ‘Fruit of the Spirit’. Seeing ‘goodness’ in action by distributing food on behalf of donors for the Mid-South Food Bank to families in Bells, TN is such a blessing.
Thanks to so many people is in order, including Mark Wallace and the staff of Bells Elementary School, Tonya Kirkland, Lois Davis, Sam Shaw, Carmack Arnold, and Bro. Zac Hannaford. In spite of the food articles (8 large pallets), not being bagged for 35 families as we were expecting; and in spite of the pending rain, the work was completed and many families with qualified needs were helped.
Great way to begin the week!
We lost a good friend and fellow minister this Monday morning as Bro. Ike Aslin went to be with the Lord. He had said repeatedly that he was ready to ‘go home’; and in the Lord’s graciousness, he went to be with Jesus today. Pray for Tina and Ike’s family as they face the decisions and difficulties ahead. Years ago, Gary and Linda Aslin were here in Bells. Pray for them as well in the loss of their son.
Yesterday was a good day with the people of God even with the rain. We had a worshipful service, good special music with Faith and Gerry Brown, and a sweet spirit!
Our Deacons are focused on what our Church can do to reach out to the Bells Community! They are a great hearted, servant-minded, Christ honoring group of men. We are blessed to have such men!
We had 34 in our business meeting last night after a good fellowship meal. Most of them stayed to prepare the door hangers for our Saturday distribution at 9 a.m. Please come and take some of these to our Bells community to let others know about what the Lord is doing with our fellowship!
Please check out our prayer list in your Sunday bulletin or in our weekly newsletter. There are many who are in need of your prayers!
This Wednesday we will be studying the prophet Zechariah, and on Sunday morning we will be examining another fruit of the Spirit, ’Faith’, essential to becoming a Christian and being a vibrant believer!!!
“Nothing Routine in Twenty Nineteen!”
