Saturday, I learned much more about the qualities of a strong Christian community as dozens of people worked together on a fundraiser for a beloved member of the Bells community, Chris Edwards. It was an honor to meet Chris, his son and daughter-in-law and grandson!

Several of our church family were involved and our large awnings for the bus and van were helpful in housing the four large grills used to cook the chicken. Crockett Countians turned out in droves for this and it reinforced to me how special are the people of Crockett County!

How can a Pastor not be thankful for the Fellowship when they exceed expectations! Sunday we received our Lottie Moon Christmas Offering! Our goal is $12,000. Morning announcement was $9.874. Additional gifts added a new total of 11,134. Then after a recount on deposit, the total was $11,584. Knowing that several of our members were out Sunday, we are confident that we will exceed our goal!

The blessing of your giving to this offering is that you become directly involved in helping almost 4,000 Southern Baptist missionaries spread the precious saving Gospel of the Lord Jesus across the world! That blesses this Preacher’s heart and makes me glad (in addition to many other reasons) to serve alongside you at Bells!!!

Sunday morning our fellowship will have a brief business meeting to vote on the 2019 Budget. Since our discussion was held in the Sunday evening business session, there will be a vote only and no discussion this Sunday a.m.

Sunday will also be our Missions Night in which we will prepare gifts for families and individuals in our community. This type of ministry has a lasting positive influence on those whose lives are connected to our fellowship. We should all be a part of this, perhaps by being in the preparation group, or in the delivery group, or in the praying group! You might want to be in all three!

Don’t miss the Christmas Concert being held at FBC, Alamo, for the Christmas Store, an extremely worthy event for the benefit of many, many families, including hundreds of children in Crockett County! Thanks, Christina and Benjamin Duffey for your leadership in this great effort!

On Sunday, Dec. 16, in the evening service, we will be blessed by our Sanctuary Choir in presentation of our annual Christmas Cantata “Peace Has Come”! Read our announcement for the Dinner details which will follow the Cantata!

In Christmas, the celebration is that God has provided the most Wonderful Gift of All; the Gift of His Son! Thank You, Heavenly Father, for the Great Gift of Life through Jesus Christ our Lord!

I remain grateful to serve with you!
