Once again, a great Sunday at Bells FBC! Music by the Choir, Prayer Focus, response to the message on Jesus the Sacrificial Redeemer, Sunday evening worship, message by Brother Zac, fellowship with the Bells community of Faith; all these made for a great day in the Lord!
Thanks to each one who prepared the rooms for fellowship, each one who brought food or desserts for the fellowship and cooked the potatoes and bought the fixin’s for our potato meal! It was a blessing!
Thanksgiving in its humble origins should not be overlooked as we celebrate what is now a federal holiday with our abundance! The first pilgrims to America, in meeting with Eastern Indians, received the blessings of shared sustenance from these who welcomed them to their shores. Without the sharing these early settlers would not have survived.
Let’s keep that in mind with those around us who have many needs of many kinds. Kids whose families have little to sustain them, handicapped who have difficulty getting the help they need, and seniors who may be lonely and have little to celebrate this season. You and I can be sensitive and responsive to each of these. This makes us the hands and feet of Christ!
After Thanksgiving, the Christmas season is with us! Perhaps this is our favorite time of the year. It certainly means a lot to me with our family gatherings! Gift-giving is important to us, but receiving gifts graciously and gratefully should be equally important to us! When someone provides a gift, it is an offering of the time and effort of their livelihood they are giving to us. We should be grateful!
In Christmas, the celebration is that God has provided the most Wonderful Gift of All; the Gift of His Son! Thank You, Heavenly Father, for the Great Gift of Life through Jesus Christ our Lord!
I remain grateful to serve with you!
