It’s a very difficult matter when the efforts and prayer that have gone into something very important do not come to the expected end. Our Pastor Search Committee is composed of some of our finest members. They have come very close to presenting someone they felt was a Pastor you would follow and appreciate.
Most of you are aware that this has changed and that we will not have the Saturday Meet and Greet nor the Sunday morning expected decision process. As disappointed as many of you may be, there are several things for which to be grateful.
First, your committee takes very seriously the charge given to them to seek an acceptable candidate. Second, they are still being faithful to that charge. They meet regularly and are following a process that will bring them to a united conclusion. Third, they will continue to seek the Will of God as to His direction for Pastoral leadership for Bells First Baptist Church.
Each of our Committee members deserves our continued trust and confidence. I hope that each of you will share a personal word of encouragement and thanks to them for their faithfulness, their unity, and their desire to achieve the Lord’s Will.
This Sunday, we will meet, study, worship, and offer praise to our Lord. In that regard, nothing has changed. You are a wonderful worshipping Church. Each time we meet, there is a joy in our midst. The preaching of the Word is still vitally important to our congregation! That doesn’t change.
Whether it is the preaching of the Pastor, Interim Pastor, or Student Pastor, or a visiting preacher, you have a vibrant accepting spirit as regards the truths of God.
When we come together this Sunday, we will come prayerfully and humbly before our God, seeking His presence in our midst.
I remain grateful to serve with you!
