We’ve survived almost a week. Dory has been at school for about a week and we’ve survived. How did we do it? Well, we did a lot of praying – both us and her. We thought about her. We missed her but we also stayed connected. She sent us several pictures daily, usually of what she was eating (We were all curious how the cafeteria was going to be) but still it was communicating. Most days we had a phone call as well. She would fill us in on what happened that day, where they went, what they did. We even got to pray together a few times.
Life is different and will probably stay that way. And it will only get different-er when Bretney gets married. She’ll be full time gone while Dory is only part time gone. And Bretney will have another party involved so we’ll have to work even harder to stay connected with them.
Do you ever feel disconnected from God? Does it feel like He’s moved away? Has it been a while since He called? Know what? He is still right there. He promised to “never leave you nor forsake you.” If you feel distant from God it’s you that moved, not Him. Remember, He is the same “yesterday, today and forever.” He’s not going to move away and leave no forwarding address. He’s not going to move away, period. We’ve got to stay connected with Him. Like with Dory, we’ve got to communicate with God. He already knows what’s going on in our lives but He still wants to hear from us. He wants us to tell Him our hopes, and dreams, and even fears. He is our heavenly Father and loves to hear from His children, longs to hear from His children, wants to hear from His children. Keep those lines of communication open and flowing!
Until our next togethering,
love ya,
Bret
