We are entering a world full of change.  As most of you know, DaLee’s work was bought out so she is still adjusting to a new workplace.  I am starting back to school this week with a whole new administrative staff so I’ll have all sorts of adjustments in the coming days (and weeks and months!)  DaLee and I have been all over Jackson gathering supplies to get Dory set up at college.  A new school and school schedule for her.  A new “time with Dory” schedule for us.  As January inches closer we are hearing more and more about wedding plans, which means a new “time with Bretney” schedule.  Not to mention time with a new son in law!  David Bowie sang “ch-ch-ch-ch-changes, turn and face the strange.”  Well, there’s not much option to run away from them, is there?!  And you know the old saying, “the only thing constant is change!”  The weather changes, the season changes, I even had to change a tire today!

There is one thing that never changes – God.  He is the same “yesterday, today, and yes forever.” (Heb 13:8) Along with Him is His love.  There is never a shortage of God’s love.  The supply doesn’t even get low!  And this is especially important for us because we change too.  One day we are gung ho and have no trouble keeping our eyes on Jesus.  Other days is a different story.  Jesus gets pushed to the back burner and we hardly give Him a glance.  I’m so glad that He loves us first and it doesn’t depend on how we respond to Him.  That’s not an excuse though!!  It’s just a comforting fact of the universe.

So, God is eternal and His love for us is eternal as well.  One of the many reasons we will spend eternity in heaven praising and thanking Him – without a bit of change.

Until our next togethering,

love ya,

Bret
