“How do you top that?!” It would be pretty difficult to top watching a grandfather baptize his granddaughter! Further, hearing him say, “I baptize you, my sister…” was about as touching as it could get! Thanks, Bells, FBC, for appropriately choosing to allow our Deacons to biblically carry out the command of Lord Jesus to go and baptize!
This is one of the many things we are enjoying about our fellowship. There is a desire to follow the commands of our Lord to reach our community for Christ and to have a Biblical witness in how we do this.
From the selection of staff to the patterns of worship to the content of things like our constitution and by-laws, we are watching a church move diligently to seek the Lord and honor Him at every level.
Reaching Bells and Crockett County for Christ is not an easy matter, but it is a critical matter if we are to actually carry out the Great Commission beginning in ‘our Jerusalem’. We do not know how long the Lord may tarry until His Coming Again. Yet we labor as we expectantly look forward to His Coming for His own. The ‘taking out’ will happen in the Father’s good time.
Meanwhile we labor in His fields. Every facet of our living as well as every facet of the Church’s life must be grounded in the Word of Truth. Sharing that Word with others is essential for a local body of Christ to have continual, faithful, energetic, life-giving ministry until Jesus comes again!!!
I will be away this Sunday and be with you again on Wednesday. Remember Bro. Zac in prayer as he prepares to preach on this Lord’s day!
When we gather on April 22, I will begin a new series entitled ‘The Virtues of the Christian’! Each of the virtues holds remarkable promises for every believer. Unlike spiritual gifts, of which each of us is given different ones, all of the virtues are needed for every believer! Pray as we approach learning how to better internalize, practice, and exhibit these virtues.
On April 29, we will have Friends and Family Day! Each of you should start your prayer list of those you will bring with you on that Sunday, both for Morning Bible Study and for Worship. Then they will join us in the fellowship area for a potluck meal! It will be a great day!
Remember, everything we do matters for the Kingdom of God! You’ll be glad you were faithful and others will be blessed!
Happy to be,
Your Servant and the Lord’s,
Bro. Wayne
