“Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revolvers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of God.”         1 Corinthians 6:9-11

It breaks my heart to see our society applaud and condone sin. Does it surprise me? No. It does truly break my heart, however.  As a believer, I see and know how great our God is. I understand that what He wants for me is far better than what the world wants for me. I understand that I am to live my life thinking about the life to come, rather than dwelling on what this life offers. Our goal in life is not to be happy, it is to serve God and live our lives for Him. Pursuing happiness in this life is meaningless. I am convinced, that while many sought to get our country to approve of sinful behavior, many think that will satisfy their need and they will be full of joy. However, the sinful heart never has enough. It just wants more and more. It is deceiving.

Christians, we have work to do. Our world is very lost, very broken, and very deceived. It pursues the pleasures of the world, hoping they will satisfy, when it is God alone who satisfies. We have been called by God to be used by God to share the message of God. We all deserve God’s wrath, for we all have broken His Law and despised His name. Many die every day to spend an eternity apart from God in a place of eternal torment. Christ has come, however, to redeem the lost. He took our sin and shame upon His shoulders. He shed His blood for us. Repent of your sin, and trust in Christ alone. Through Him, we are cleansed of our sins, and declared righteous before God. He alone is the door, and He alone calls His sheep.

Yes what has happened recently is rough. Let it be a wakeup call, brothers and sisters. There is a job to do. Let us get to work!
